Our Story

The Story of Geo-ICT Training Center, Netherlands

  • Our story began in 2009. In the world of surveying, there were far too few new applicants for vocational, higher vocational, and university programs.ย  Discussions and campaigns like GoGeo existed, but not much was happening. Then our founder, Anton Schutte, came up with the idea to launch the website www.geoictopleidingen.nl in 2009, where he offered 80 courses in CAD, GIS, Geodesy, and ICT. In no time, we received many enrollments. On January 1, 2010, we became a limited liability company (BV), and we consider that our official start date. Not long after, Maarten Wouter and Robert Janssen joined Geo-ICT. Maarten is an experienced AutoCAD instructor, and Robert has years of experience teaching MicroStation courses.
  • Our course catalog grew steadily, so we now offer a wide range of courses. There was and continues to be a great need for new talent, especially because ICT has radically transformed the field of surveying, just as it has many other fields. The niche surveying sector has evolved into Geo-ICT, and there is a need for thousands of new employees across all sectors in various types of roles where geoinformation plays a major role.
  • Due to the high demand, we continuously hire graduates from vocational, higher vocational, and university programs across various fields of study. These trainees participate in courses we already offer to external clients. In this way, we train them and place them on a temporary basis with our clients. We serve as a platform for entry-level professionals. Currently, we have 10 full-time and freelance instructors who teach on an ongoing basis, and 50 trainees. Our instructors also regularly take on part-time secondments. In this way, we keep both feet on the ground and provide reliable and well-trained professionals for various sectors.
  • Since 2010, we have learned a great deal, and that has shaped our Vision and Mission.
