Pix4DMapper

Photogrammetry is the science of making accurate measurements from photographs, especially for mapping and spatial analysis. When combined with drone technology, it becomes one of the most effective tools in modern geo-information. Today, professionals across a wide range of industries—from construction and urban planning to conservation and research—use photogrammetry to document, analyze, and plan with speed, accuracy, and efficiency.

With software like Pix4Dmapper, you can process overlapping aerial images into highly detailed 2D maps and 3D models. These include orthomosaics, digital elevation models (DEMs), and textured point clouds. The results are not just visually impressive—they’re accurate and measurable, making them ideal for land surveying, infrastructure inspections, environmental monitoring, and more.

What makes this technology so valuable is its accessibility. With just a drone, a camera, and the right software, you can capture complex landscapes and infrastructure—without even leaving the ground. The ability to collect, process, and analyze geospatial data quickly and cost-effectively is transforming how professionals work with geographic information.

At Geo-ICT, we understand the importance of these tools. Our Pix4Dmapper Course is designed to give you both the knowledge and the hands-on experience needed to make photogrammetry an integral part of your work. Whether you’re new to image processing or looking to level up your expertise, this course is your starting point for producing professional, high-quality spatial outputs.

What will you learn

This course introduces you to both the foundational theory and hands-on techniques of photogrammetry using Pix4Dmapper. You’ll start by learning what photogrammetry is, how it works, and where it fits in today’s geospatial workflows. From there, you’ll move through each phase of a photogrammetry project—from flight planning and data collection to image alignment and 3D model generation. Along the way, you’ll build confidence working with real datasets, troubleshooting common issues, and producing results that are ready for use in GIS, CAD, or other mapping applications. By the end, you’ll have a clear, practical workflow you can apply to your own drone-based mapping projects.

Why choose this course

At Geo-ICT, we focus on practical, real-world learning. Our goal is to make sure you leave the course with not just knowledge—but also the confidence and skills to apply it immediately in your work.

Here’s what sets our Pix4Dmapper Course apart:

  • Expert instruction: Learn from professionals with real-world experience in drones, GIS, and photogrammetry
  • Hands-on learning: Work with actual drone datasets and complete guided, project-based exercises
  • Small groups: Get personalized feedback and support throughout the course
  • Up-to-date tools: Use the latest version of Pix4Dmapper with workflows aligned to current industry practices

Whether you’re looking to upskill yourself or train your team, this course delivers the expertise you need to succeed with drone data and spatial modeling.

    Course structure

    Day 1

The course begins with a clear introduction to the principles of photogrammetry and the role of aerial imagery in generating geospatial data. You’ll learn about flight planning, image overlap, and key camera settings. In the afternoon, you’ll dive into the Pix4Dmapper software. You’ll import your images, configure your first project, and walk through the entire processing pipeline—from alignment to point cloud generation. By the end of the day, you’ll understand how aerial images are transformed into usable 3D data.

    Day 2

The second day focuses on refining and optimizing your outputs. You’ll learn to generate high-resolution orthomosaics, digital elevation models, and realistic 3D visualizations. You’ll explore how to apply color, texture, and mesh features to enhance your models. You’ll also tackle image alignment issues and learn how to make manual adjustments when necessary. The course wraps up with measurement tools and best practices for accuracy, quality control, and exporting your data to CAD, GIS, or BIM environments.
