ArcGIS Basics

Total study time: 24 hours

Ever wondered how to use geographic data without any prior knowledge of ArcGIS? This one-on-one blended learning course is designed to guide you step by step. You'll learn how to create maps, analyze spatial information, and make hidden insights visible—even if you've never worked with GIS before. With expert guidance and easy-to-follow online modules, you’ll quickly build practical skills using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro.

ArcGIS

ArcGIS is a powerful software platform for viewing, analyzing, and applying geographic data. Whether you’re creating maps, studying locations, or uncovering spatial patterns, ArcGIS helps you make smarter use of your data.

Nowadays, most data includes a location element—like an address, GPS coordinate, or region. With GIS (Geographic Information Systems), you can turn that data into clear, visual insights. ArcGIS allows you to better understand patterns and support well-informed decisions.

The best part? You don’t need a technical background to get started. This course is for anyone who wants to use geo-information in their work or studies. You’ll start with the basics and grow your skills with each lesson.

What Will You Learn in This Blended Learning Course?

In this course, you’ll develop strong foundational skills in GIS through ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. You’ll learn how to collect, edit, and display geographic data, and how to apply spatial analysis in real-life situations.

We begin with simple tasks like zooming, navigating maps, and using map layers. Step by step, you’ll move on to advanced topics such as geostatistics and data processing. Along the way, you’ll also explore the key concepts that explain how and why spatial analysis works.

The course includes plenty of hands-on exercises based on realistic situations. This way, you’re not just learning software—you’re learning how to use GIS to solve real-world challenges.

What you learn applies across many fields—from ecology and urban planning to engineering and logistics. Whether you’re just starting out or already have some experience, this course gives you the tools to use ArcGIS with confidence and purpose.

Why Choose This ArcGIS Basics Course?

Blended learning gives you the best of both worlds—live interaction and flexible self-paced study—so you can build real, job-ready GIS skills. In this course, you’ll get hands-on with ArcGIS and learn how to work with spatial data in real-world contexts.

We kick off with a live session where you’ll start applying ArcGIS tools to real geographic data right away. With expert guidance from experienced GIS instructors, you’ll build map layers, create visualizations, and explore spatial analysis using real datasets.

Next, our self-paced modules let you build your skills at your own pace. Through interactive lessons, you’ll dive into the fundamentals of geodata, mapping, and spatial analysis using ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Pro. You’ll gain practical experience using real data and see how GIS supports decision-making in a variety of fields.

Then, in a second live session, you’ll apply what you’ve learned to realistic project scenarios. You’ll refine your techniques, build complete workflows, and receive feedback as you analyze and present geospatial information in a professional context.

By combining flexible learning with guided hands-on training, this course helps you move beyond theory to confident, independent GIS work. By the end, you’ll be ready to process, analyze, and communicate geographic data using ArcGIS tools in your own field.
