Why Google Maps, Earth, and GIS Matter

Google Maps and Google Earth are essential tools for modern spatial analysis. From visualizing infrastructure to tracking environmental changes, these platforms help professionals in planning, logistics, marketing, and public services make informed, location-based decisions.

With global coverage and powerful cloud-based tools like Google Earth Engine, users can access detailed satellite imagery, build interactive dashboards, and perform large-scale analysis with ease. When integrated with GIS platforms, Google’s tools unlock new ways to understand the world—and act on it.
