Sparklyr, PowerBI and R Programming

Total study time: 24 hours

How can you quickly build a smart data analysis pipeline using Sparklyr, R, and Power BI? In this 1-on-1 course, you’ll learn how to turn raw geospatial data into insights that matter. With personal guidance and hands-on online modules, you’ll master the tools to process and visualize large datasets in ways that make a real impact.

Sparklyr, Power BI, and R programming

In the world of geo-information, working with big data is part of the job. To get real value from that data, you need the right tools—and the skills to use them effectively. That’s exactly what you’ll gain in this blended learning course.

You’ll get hands-on with three powerful technologies:

  • Power BI Desktop, a user-friendly yet robust tool for creating interactive dashboards and visual reports from multiple data sources.
  • Sparklyr, an open-source library that connects R with Apache Spark, giving you the ability to analyze large geospatial datasets quickly and efficiently.
  • R, a widely used language for statistical computing and data science, ideal for building predictive models and advanced analytics workflows.

By combining these tools, you’ll learn how to turn complex geodata into clear, actionable insights. And thanks to our flexible blended learning format—combining self-paced modules with guided live sessions—you can learn when it suits you while staying focused on practical, real-world application.

What will you learn in this blended learning course?

This course is designed to help you build big data pipelines with the latest analysis tools—specifically for geospatial applications. You’ll learn using Sparklyr, Power BI Desktop, and R, all while working through a realistic case study based on raw earthquake data.

You’ll start by extracting and cleaning your data, then formatting it for analysis. From there, you’ll use Sparklyr and R to run predictive models and explore large datasets interactively. In Power BI, you’ll combine data sources into a single model and design dashboards that bring your insights to life.

Step by step, you’ll move from raw data to professional-grade visualizations. Along the way, you’ll gain a solid foundation in modern geospatial data workflows—skills you can apply directly in your work.

Why choose this course on Sparklyr, Power BI, and R programming?

Blended learning gives you the best of both worlds—live interaction and flexible, self-paced study—so you can build real, job-ready skills in data analysis.

We kick things off with a live session where you’ll dive right into real-world data. With expert support, you’ll clean and prep geospatial datasets using R and Sparklyr, and get a first look at building visuals in Power BI.

Then, through our self-paced modules, you’ll dig deeper into each tool. You’ll build scalable pipelines with Sparklyr, develop predictive models in R, and design interactive dashboards in Power BI that pull everything together.

Later, in a second live session, you’ll apply what you’ve learned in a practical case—like analyzing earthquake data. You’ll troubleshoot, refine your output, and get direct feedback to help sharpen your final results.

One of the course highlights is its full, hands-on workflow. You’ll follow every step professionals take—from raw input to polished visual output. What you build in this course, you can take straight into your real-world work.

By combining expert instruction with real project-based learning, you’ll go beyond just learning tools. By the end, you’ll confidently process, analyze, and visualize big geospatial datasets—and turn them into smarter decisions.
