QGIS 3D Visualization

Total study time: 24 hours

How do you bring geospatial data to life in 3D? In this one-on-one course, you’ll learn how to create and analyze detailed 3D models using QGIS. You’ll discover how to visualize elevation, terrain, and urban structures with real-world datasets. With expert guidance, flexible online modules, and hands-on assignments, you’ll gain both the theory and practical skills to apply 3D visualization directly in your work.

What is QGIS 3D Visualization?

QGIS 3D visualization is a powerful tool that lets you present and analyze geospatial data in three dimensions. It transforms traditional 2D maps into interactive 3D models, offering deeper insight into patterns, terrain, and changes in the landscape. Whether you’re planning cities, assessing environmental impact, or modeling infrastructure, it helps you interpret complex data—and makes it more engaging to share.

What makes it stand out is its accessibility. QGIS is open-source and easy to use, giving you access to advanced 3D analysis without expensive software. Whether you’re a GIS specialist, city planner, or environmental researcher, QGIS 3D helps you explore your data in a whole new way.

What will you learn in the blended learning course?

This course teaches you how to use QGIS 3D tools step by step. You’ll start by preparing geospatial data for 3D display, then learn how to create and edit terrain models, buildings, and infrastructure. Along the way, you’ll practice spatial analysis in 3D, such as visualizing elevation changes and running shadow simulations.

You’ll also learn how to present your results in a clear, visual format. From interactive models to 3D scenes, you’ll discover how to make your geospatial data more accessible and compelling for any audience.

By the end of this course, you’ll know how to turn complex data into clear 3D visuals that support smarter analysis and better communication.

Why choose this QGIS 3D visualization course?

Blended learning gives you the best of both worlds—live expert guidance and flexible self-paced study—so you can build practical, job-ready skills with QGIS 3D.

We kick off with a live session where you’ll dive into working with real geospatial datasets. With support from experienced GIS trainers, you’ll start building and optimizing 3D models and performing spatial analysis right away.

Next, our self-paced modules let you explore essential topics like terrain modeling, infrastructure visualization, and 3D analysis techniques—at your own pace, on your own schedule.

Then, in a second live session, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned to real-world scenarios. You’ll troubleshoot common challenges, get personal feedback, and refine your 3D visualizations for real project applications.

A key highlight of the course is its real-world focus. You’ll create outputs you can immediately use—like interactive 3D scenes and spatial analysis models—for urban planning, environmental work, or infrastructure design.

By combining expert-led sessions with hands-on experience, this course helps you go beyond the basics. You’ll finish ready to use QGIS 3D tools to solve real-world problems and present data that inspires action.
