In this course, you’ll master the use of Mergin Maps and QGIS to digitize and streamline your fieldwork. First, you’ll explore how to collect and manage geospatial data and analyze it within a complete GIS workflow.
The course begins with setting up your project by adding background layers—such as raster and vector data—and creating custom survey layers. You’ll also learn how to design map themes and sync your data via the Mergin cloud, enabling effortless collaboration among team members.
Afterward, you’ll work with the Input app to capture and edit field data. This hands-on practice will give you a clear understanding of how GIS professionals collect, process, and analyze spatial data—whether you’re working in the field or remotely.

We start with a live session where you’ll begin working with real datasets. With support from experienced GIS professionals, you’ll create map layers, configure survey attributes, and build synchronized survey projects.
Then, you’ll move into our self-paced modules, where you’ll deepen your skills. You’ll explore survey layer creation, background map preparation, map theme styling, and data syncing through the Mergin cloud. You’ll also learn how to manage fieldwork within a collaborative GIS environment.
In a second live session, you’ll apply everything you’ve learned to a real-world challenge. You’ll troubleshoot field data issues, refine your GIS workflow, and receive one-on-one feedback to fine-tune your approach.

Yes, we offer on-site training regularly throughout the Netherlands. Our instructor will bring laptops for the participants, and all you need to do is arrange a suitable room at your location.
